This is the last blog of Pokemonathon! I might have delayed the blog a day because I cherish the time we spend together and wanted to draw it out. That’s certainly more likely than me forgetting which day it was.
Anyway, as promised, I have another video for you this week: one of (mostly) the entire process of me drawing Rayquaza, which turned out to be one of my favorites (if not the favorite) of the whole bunch. I got to do some fun lighting and atmospheric perspective effects on this one!
Pokemonathon finished posting to my blog yesterday, and even though I technically finished a couple weeks ago, I make art to share with people; it never feels final until the last pieces are published! So, since I am more than ready to be done with this, please behold: Every Generation Three Pokemon.
In addition to representing no less than 100 hours of my life, this is one of three prints available to entrants of my fan art show-and-tell contest from last blog! (Dazzled, I’m sure.)
I had three entrants: KattoTang, Jade, and Robin. Thanks so much to all of you!! There can only be one winner though, and that winner is…
Jade! This is perhaps the cutest Vaporeon on the planet? Very likely. I’ll be contacting you about which print you’d like!
And, actually, three winners isn’t so far out of the realm of reality. As thanks for participating I’ll send 3 stickers each to KattoTang and Robin!
I hope everyone’s enjoyed Pokemonathon this year! It’ll take me another 9 months to forget how much work this was and opt to kick back up with Generation 4 next spring.
For now though, I’m trying to think of other topics to cover in future blog series! Is there anything art or craft related you’d like to talk about? Any other huge art challenges you’d like me to struggle with for the whole internet to see…? Let me know in the comments!
